Hong Kong school withdraws alleged Cantonese ban

Good Hope School in Hong Kong has withdrawn a controversial guideline allegedly banning the use of Cantonese in student graduation videos. Following online backlash, the semi-private girls’ school issued a statement on Monday saying it had heard concerns from the wider community and “fully and formally withdrawn” the guidance paper regarding next year’s Form Six graduation class video.
