Hyrox athlete apologises for Beijing soiling incident

Hyrox competitor Joanna Wietrzyk apologised on social media on Thursday after being dogged by controversy following her win at the solo women’s event in Beijing on Saturday. Wietrzyk soiled herself mid-race but carried on competing, contaminating equipment and track surfaces. In her statement, she said she regrets not pulling out of the competition and that she will forfeit the points she earned.
