Thailand flooding persists after government declares disaster zone

Thousands of people in Bangkok have been evacuated to temporary shelters after the Thai capital saw its worst flooding in 15 years. Many residents queued for hours as they scrambled to stock up on food and supplies, despite warnings from authorities against panic buying. Thailand’s defence ministry has deployed more than 10,000 soldiers to support flood-relief efforts.
