US battery start-up picks China over Kentucky for its first factory

A US battery manufacturer will officially begin production in China on the same day US President Donald Trump meets Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Washington on Thursday. The American start-up scrapped plans to open its first factory in Kentucky, a decision that exposed the limits of the US president’s efforts to revive domestic manufacturing.
