New flash floods strike villages in Nepal

At least five people were missing after new flash floods swept through Nepal’s Gorkha region on Sunday. Authorities rescued 49 people and urged nearby residents to evacuate as floodwaters caused by a landslide continued to threaten downstream villages. The incident followed a catastrophic flood that hit the same region in August, killing more than 1,400 people and leaving thousands more missing.
