Investigators continue work to determine why an Omani co-pilot stabbed the captain of a flight bound for Israel, causing the plane to plummet dangerously before others on board subdued the attacker. Captain Smit Machchhar was critically injured after taking the brunt of an attack during a suspected hijacking attempt by a co-pilot on Wednesday. The captain and others on board were hailed as heroes after he managed to open the cockpit door so crew and passengers could overpower the attacker and take control of the plane. The Flydubai flight was en route to Tel Aviv before being forced to make an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia.
