At least 120 still missing after latest Indonesian ferry disaster

Rescuers continue searching for survivors after the Virgo Transport 8 ferry capsized in the Java Sea. At least 120 people are still missing as salvage operations begin a week after the vessel sank on September 13, 2026. The ship encountered high winds and rough seas as it sailed from Surabaya in East Java to Banjarmasin in South Kalimantan.
