A war of words has broken out between US President Donald Trump and Doug Ford, the premier of the Canadian province of Ontario. They traded insults on Monday, after trade talks broke down between their countries over the weekend and the US reimposed 50 per cent tariffs on US$28 billion worth of Canadian goods. Trump singled out Ford in a post on Truth Social, calling Ford and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney “clowns”. Ford doubled down on his earlier comments responding to Trump’s tariff threats, by saying the US president could “kiss my a**”.
