A shark trapped in a man-made waterway in South Korea’s southern port city of Busan has drawn more than 600,000 visitors, local media reported on Tuesday. The shark is known as Bukang-i – a nickname derived from the Korean words for the city’s North Port. The animal has been stuck in the narrow canal since it was first spotted on September 18, according to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency. On Tuesday, authorities tried but failed to guide the shark back into open water. Another operation involving nets and other equipment is planned for Friday.
