South Korea demands Ukraine apology over POW transfer

South Korea’s presidential office has demanded an official explanation and apology from Ukraine, after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told the UN General Assembly last week that Kyiv had transferred two North Korean prisoners of war (POWs) to South Korea. Seoul says the disclosure was made without sufficient prior consultation and that Kyiv had falsely denied both sides had agreed to keep the move confidential.
