Hong Kong authorities have stepped up checks on large dogs in public places to ensure they are properly leashed. A three-day operation ending in early September yielded three suspected cases of big dogs who were not restrained. The operation was prompted by recent fatal dog attacks in the city. Hong Kong’s Agricultural, Fisheries and Conservation Department is also looking into whether further requirements are needed to identify potential dangerous dogs.
