Dozens killed in Indian festival tragedies
Two separate incidents, including a stampede and an out-of-control truck that ploughed into a crowd, have left at least 32 people dead in India during Hindu religious festivities. On Saturday, 19 people were killed and dozens injured in Kolkata, West Bengal, when the stampede started as crowds tried to escape a sudden downpour during Durga Puja festivities. The following day, a speeding, out-of-control truck struck devotees gathered for Navratri events at a temple in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, killing at least 13 people.
