China’s Luxury Market Takes a Sharp Hit | World Business Watch

China’s luxury market is showing signs of a sharp slowdown, and a tax crackdown targeting wealth held overseas may be making wealthy shoppers think twice before spending.
Sales at China’s 25 biggest luxury brands fell more than 10 percent in July, according to three research firms surveyed by Bloomberg.
That is a steeper decline than in June and a major reversal from stronger sales earlier this year.
