The Shenzhou-20 crew aboard China’s Tiangong Space Station—astronauts Chen Dong, Chen Zhongrui, and Wang Jie—are carrying out a wide range of cutting-edge scientific experiments and health monitoring procedures, according to the China Manned Space Agency.Key research includes testing material durability in space using the External Materials Exposure Device, microgravity combustion experiments using liquid, gas, and solid fuels, fine motor control studies for space medicine using motion-sensing devices, microbial monitoring to ensure safe air, water, and surface conditions aboard the station.The astronauts also performed cardiac and vascular ultrasounds and used neuromuscular stimulation to counteract the effects of microgravity on muscle mass.
