China’s homegrown C919 airliner, having commenced its maiden commercial flight on May 28th, endured a halt to operations a mere one month later. On the morning of June 29th, C919 was set to operate MU9187, jetting off from Shanghai to Chengdu, with a scheduled return flight at 12:30 in the afternoon. However, with the aircraft still grounded as late as 2:16 PM, China Eastern Airlines had no choice but to deploy the Airbus A320 as a stand-in. Intriguingly, the C919 did manage to return to Shanghai’s Hongqiao Airport that evening, albeit without passengers.#c919 #chinaobserver
