At around 3 a.m. on February 25, 2025, several Taiwanese patrol boats surrounded a cargo ship flying the Togolese flag about six nautical miles northwest of Jiangjun Fishing Harbor in Tainan, southern Taiwan. As one of the patrol boats gradually approached the cargo ship, the sea was rough, and the vessel rocked in the dark waves. Several patrol officers struggled to board the ship. Over the radio, a voice from the scene reported to the command center: “One patrol officer has safely boarded the vessel.” This tense and dramatic moment was recorded by the officers on site.
