Paraguay Deports Chinese Envoy Over “Taiwan” and “Interference” | Firstpost AmericaParaguay has deported a senior Chinese diplomat, Xu Wei, after accusing him of meddling in the South American Nation’s internal affairs. The Chinese envoy was in the Latin American Nation to attend a UNESCO meeting, where he did not attend the summit and instead lectured Paraguay over its relations with Taiwan. Paraguay is one of the few nations in the world and in Latin America to have diplomatic relations with Taiwan. Paraguay’s Foreign Ministry declared Xu Wei Persona Non Grata and given the Chinese envoy 24 hours to leave the country. Meanwhile, the Chinese envoy said that it was a shame that Paraguay did not have much trade with China.
