For a while now, the Chinese government has taken countermeasures. On October 31, China’s two major aircraft carriers, the Liaoning and Shandong, conducted their first-ever joint training exercises in the South China Sea. Chinese state media called them “the strongest surface fleet in Asia.” Foreign media pointed out that this was likely a display of military strength, aimed at containing the Philippines and countering U.S. and Japanese military presence in the Asia-Pacific. Taiwan’s military experts noted that, despite these advances, China’s aircraft carriers still can’t match the capabilities of the U.S. Navy’s carrier strike groups, due to limitations in aircraft capacity, takeoff methods, and the lack of overseas supply bases.

A prominent economist’s speech has gone viral in China for his unsparing take on the economy and society. Gao Shanwen, who previously advised government officials and on regulations, said China’s youth are draining energy from consumption due to deep job losses – that’s in contrast with older people’s stable spending habits. He described the country’s post-pandemic society as being “full of vibrant old people, lifeless young people and despairing middle-aged people.”—-

Paraguay Deports Chinese Envoy Over “Taiwan” and “Interference” | Firstpost AmericaParaguay has deported a senior Chinese diplomat, Xu Wei, after accusing him of meddling in the South American Nation’s internal affairs. The Chinese envoy was in the Latin American Nation to attend a UNESCO meeting, where he did not attend the summit and instead lectured Paraguay over its relations with Taiwan. Paraguay is one of the few nations in the world and in Latin America to have diplomatic relations with Taiwan. Paraguay’s Foreign Ministry declared Xu Wei Persona Non Grata and given the Chinese envoy 24 hours to leave the country. Meanwhile, the Chinese envoy said that it was a shame that Paraguay did not have much trade with China.

China’s irresponsible actions are going to spark a war in Asia.
