Amid a boom in generative AI and the rise of apps like DeepSeek and ChatGPT, China’s adult toys industry is the latest to capitalise on the global trend. WMDoll, one of the biggest sex doll manufacturers in the country, predicts a record 30 per cent jump in sales this year as it adopts open-source generative artificial intelligence (AI) models to help improve the user experience of its products. The company’s latest MetaBox series is built with an AI module, connected to cloud computing services hosted on data centres across various markets where large language models process information from each toy.
