According to reports, China is developing a powerful high-power microwave (HPM) directed energy weapon. Though still in laboratory testing and not yet ready for deployment, this weapon has the potential to generate intense electromagnetic pulses capable of disrupting or destroying electronic components in enemy weapon systems, drawing comparisons to a nuclear explosion.
