Hong Kong: Pro-democracy demonstrators held after Tiananmen Square vigil

Police in Hong Kong have arrested pro-democracy activists on the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre. Among those detained was 67-year-old campaigner Alexandra Wong, widely known as “Grandma Wong”. For decades, Hong Kong was the only Chinese city with a large-scale public Tiananmen commemoration. But the annual vigil has been banned since the imposition of a national security law in 2020.
